Milfoil Treatment Plans for 2011
In our continuing efforts to manage the non-native plants in Powers Lake; the DPL performed a pre-treatment plant Survey in early May. Click here for a map of the 2011 pre-treatment survey which indicated the areas that will be treated this year.
We are expecting the treatment to be performed between Wednesday May 18th - Friday 20th (weather permitting) and we will be treating for both Milfoil and Curly Leaf Pond weed.
As the boating season gets underway and if you see any Milfoil or Curly Leaf by your dock or shore, feel free to hand pull and make sure you properly dispose of all remnants. Hand pulling is also an effective means to eradicate non-native plants. Please be sure to do your homework and only pull non-native plants.. for more info on invasives, click here.
